This award-winning international best-seller is now available in the U.S. for the first time! A new interactive tale to read, to listen to, and to click on for girls and boys from age 5 up. Lulu has sold hundreds of thousands of copies in 20 languages. Now you (and your children) can enjoy it in English! The DVD-ROM version includes the story in eight languages: English, Danish, Italian, German, French, Norwegian, Japanese, Chinese. It's a great language-learning tool!

Mnémo the robot falls into Lulu's book. Page after page we travel on a fantastic interactive journey from the jungle to the ice--a journey rich in discovery and emotions. Ink and paper images become animated, creating an imaginative and poetic adventure that will fascinate your kids--as it has hundreds of thousands the world over.

Thanks to multimedia your child will bring to life an extraordinary story and will discover along the way the magical relationship that can exist between a book and a computer.

Let critic Bob Hughes describe the magic of Lulu….

  • “Lulu” reaches emotions other DVDs leave untouched. There is sentiment here on a scale few English-speaking authors would even dare to attempt. Visually, it is exquisite. It has wonderful haunting music (by Olivier Pryszlak). But that is not where the magic begins. In fact, “Lulu” is not a book. It is a play on the whole idea of books, the people who live in them, and the deep, yet impossible attachments we form with them — especially as children. There is no “real” Book of Lulu (and Victor-Pujebet insists there never will be). Lulu's world only exists when the computer is on, and you are separated from it by the thick glass of your monitor screen. You cannot put it into your pocket and imagine you possess it. That is Romain's whole point: we can never possess the things and people we love.
I think it is the first CDROM that qualifies for the label “children's classic”: it has depths that make age irrelevant; its greatest depths are conceptual and emotional; it is worthy of, and rewards, serious critical attention.
—from a review in The Guardian

Here are just some of the awards Lulu has won:

  • LD Magazine's Annual Design Review, 1996, Interactive Category.
  • French ITC '96 Multimedia Festival Award for Education.
  • 1996 Multimedia Prize, Société des Gens de Lettres.
  • 1996 Best Multimedia Scenario, SACD (Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques).
  • The Totem Award, Salon du Livre de Jeunesse.

Minimum System Requirements:
Any Windows PC with a DVD-ROM drive should have no trouble with Lulu. But remember: this is a DVD-ROM, not a DVD-Video--it will not play on your television set; you must play it on your computer.

Not Mac compatible at the present time. If you have a Mac, order the CD-ROM version, which works perfectly.
